Bronx was introduced into the South African market in 1991 as tough men’s fashion shoe range and was manufactured by Jodan Shoes, a footwear manufacturing company dating back to 1877 when it was founded by Alfred Jordan and his two sons. In 2015 Jordan Shoes was acquired by Bolton Footwear (Pty) Ltd a household name as a well-respected manufacturer with over 150 years of history in manufacturing quality footwear.

The Bronx trademark was registered in 1999 and after initially being a range of basic Goodyear welted footwear, it evolved and quickly became well known for offering a range of rugged, durable styled boots and shoes loved by men in South Africa.
